SPIRITUAL GUIDES VS SHAPE-SHIFTING.

SHAPE-SHIFTING is the supernatural ability to change or transform one’s form into another. This ability is utilized by various creatures, spiritual guides, among others in other to be accepted and some use it to camouflage their true unappealing, frightful and monstrous forms, allowing them to pass as human.

SHAPE-SHIFTING is the ability to physically transform oneself through an inherent superhuman ability, divine intervention, demonic manipulation, sorcery, spells or having inherited the ability. The idea of shapeshifting is in the oldest forms of totemism and shamanism, as well as the oldest existent literature such as “The Bottled Leopard” by Chukwuemeka Ike which divulged that such powers existed and powerful dibias possess such abilities to shapeshift into a leopard to keep their communities safe. In epic poems and folklore for example “Ojadili” who wrestled the spirits that continued to shapeshift to avoid being defeated. The concept remains a common literary device in modern fantasy, children’s literature and popular culture of the Igbo society.

Popular shapeshifting creatures in folklore are deities, mariners, tortoise, leopard, snake, chameleon, Tigers among others. It was also common for deities to transform to mortals, into animals and plants. While the popular idea of a shapeshifter is of a human being who turns into something else, there are numerous stories about animals that can transform themselves as well. In other cultures, shape-shifting exists but it depends on what is obtained from their own history and literature.

Shape Shifters can change their form to appear as any person living, dead, or fictional. Shifters have appeared to have purely human drives that have ranged from jealousy, greed and loneliness. It appears that not all the shape shifters have the same abilities. Shapeshifters that shed their skin were born of one human mother or father while shifters that morph into the likeness of other people were conceived by the union of two shifters powers and abilities. Shapeshifters can take a living person’s physical appearance. Shifters can also take on a deceased or fictional person’s physical appearance from pictures or from film. Shifters can perfectly copy a person from their fingerprints to their teeth.

A Shapeshifter is also a person who always find a way to fit in no matter the circumstances. Shapeshifters have lots of interests depending on the situation. They blend easily into several different groups. While their talent of “fitting in” is a gift that not only serves them well but can benefit the people who quickly relate to them, it can leave the shape shifters feeling confused about where they really belong. They are multi-talented individuals and things generally come easy for them. Within, they may question who they are and what is important to them. They are charming enough to cover up their insecurities and the feelings of having to transform themselves in order to be liked. Everyone loves a shapeshifter but deep down, they may wonder, if they really know them. They have good instincts and are known to be people watchers. They are moody and melancholic and don’t care to explain themselves, but beneath that shell is someone who will never turn their back on you. Their ability varies from:

A. SUPER STRENGTH.
A shapeshifter’s strength can exceed that of a humans.
B. TELEPATHY.
They have access to the thoughts of the person they want to communicate with.
C. WEAKNESSES.
Animals are sensitive and very paranormal. Dogs have the ability to react aggressively around the presence of shapeshifters.

TYPES OF SHAPESHIFTERS:

  1. CHANGELING: Creatures that can perfectly mimic children or adults. A changeling child can be an Ọgbanje. Today, they appear old, young, beautiful, ugly etc
  2. ANCESTORS: They will appear fully cladded as masquerades in the dream with full-body markings or voice of a familiar elder. Sometimes in form of a deceased loved one.
  3. DEITIES: They can take form of ancient creatures that evolved using camouflage and can pass as humans. The also take form of one’s beloved to warn, protect or pass across messages.
  4. GHOSTS: Some ghosts have shown the ability to alter perception and switch between human and look more grotesque and frightening. Unlike the original versions of themselves.
  5. MARINERS: Many say they come in half human and half fish form, or take on appearance of a child, a matured beautiful woman who always wear whites, some appear translucent and fragile like an old man/woman. It depends on their assigned mission at that time.
  6. ANIMALS: Most animals are totems or spiritual symbols of some deities. They are able to transform into humans and pass across messages using telepathy or physical appearance in the dream or metaphysical. Animals like Gorilla, Chameleon, Dragon, Snake, Leopard, Tiger, Cow among others.

WHY SOME SPIRITUAL GUIDES SHAPESHIFT;

  1. They can cause someone to be afraid if they appear in their true form. Therefore options lies in shape shifting.
  2. They run errands swiftly once they transform themselves.
  3. Shapeshifters love to appear appealing and mysterious.
  4. Their magical abilities are displayed in the process of shapeshifting which they use in protecting themselves from negative attacks or people.
  5. Sometimes, they will want to conceal their true identity to avoid being taken for granted.
  6. Universally, they originate and are from nature and as such operate in their own natural law.
  7. They shapeshift to avoid human entanglement and many more.

Many people who lack spiritual consciousness often claim to see white people or Jesus or angels. They failed to realize that their spiritual guides are with them and monitor their lives as to protect them. They therefore know their likes and dislikes. When they want to pass across messages or warnings they shapeshift to a likable form that is appealing to their wards to deliver those messages. This is not exactly who they saw, the real fact is that one’s spiritual guide can do that to pass on messages more easily and efficiently without putting fear into the receiver. Another, can be the enemy who wants to cause confusion in one’s life.
