Ngwụ is a tree with special kind of powers. It connotes pure strength and every real ọ natara Chi dibias and Adaeze nwanyi need that strength/Ngwu to perform powerful spiritual works. In Afa language, Ngwụ is called Okala Ose. Ngwu is a powerful tree. Ngwu is one of Igbo’s ancestral spirit or deity that comes in form of a tree and no one plants it. We have Ngwụ ndi ichie any family or kindred that has osisi ngwu, evil people can not penetrate them and no charm planted there can work. Ngwu is one ancestral spirit or deity that white cloth is being tied round it to cover its nakedness and keep it sacred. The reason is because of the spiritual purity and power it possesses than other ancestral spirits. Some families have cut down their Ngwu tree. Including my own family and we suffered a lot because of that. The person who cut it down, his own direct lineage was closed down spiritually, as he was unable to procreate while alive. It brings untold suffering to the family. Ngwu reincarnates humans, when it reincarnates a person, that person will be given name by Ngwu. Ngwụ reincarnated my great grandfather, grandfather, father and that is why we were called Nwangwu. Because of Christianity, they changed name to Uchendu. My own late father was a very deep spiritual human, nothing takes him unaware, he was very strong, he can fight 10 people same time and defeat them. He was fearless, very kind, very prosperous yet rejected his call to serve as a Dibịa because of Christian religion, he took shelter in Celestial Church to avoid serving the deity, while he was there with our family, I was a little girl of 3 and started manifesting without ịrụ Agwụ. He had accidents before his death yet, he survived them. The Spirit of Ngwụ protected him till the day CHUKWU called him.

My mom told me how she gave birth to me, that I came to this world with my first upper and lower tooth intact. Quite a mystery! Only 9 months in the womb! She couldn’t breastfeed me for long because of my tooth. That was how, she knew I was chosen to serve plus so many things that happened to her during her pregnancy of me.

In summary, here is an advice, Stop destroying your ancestral spirits, they work in your favour, just be in good terms with them and you will enjoy your life, this is how Igbos communicated with God. We recognise Chukwu and we are deeply spiritual in nature.
