Part 1: Mentor, Mentoring And Spiritual Mentorship.

A mentor is an experienced and trusted adviser, a trusted counselor or guide. A mentor can be a male or female who is a tutor, coach, a teacher engaged in imparting knowledge to the students. A mentor is a bit different from a teacher. A mentor is an experienced person who acts as an advisor to another individual. A mentor should be able to guide another person to greater success.

Characteristics of Good Mentors.
A mentee-mentor relationship entails work, commitment, and follow-through on both sides. That is, if it is going to be successful. Consider the following traits to assess your mentoring skills and areas that you wish to develop to ensure that the mentoring you offer is effective and has lasting value.

1. A mentor should be a good listener/sounding board.
2. Flexible in decisions and actions.
3. Be of great Value and also value diversity of perspectives.
4. A mentor must be Knowledgeable.
5. He /She should not be judgmental.
6. A mentor can be able to give constructive feedback.
7. He/she should be9 Honest and give a mentee their candid opinion.
8. A mentor should be able to network and find resources.
9. Any mentor needs to be successful in their chosen field /career.
10. Mentors must be willing and able to devote time to develop others.
11. Mentors are equally eager to learn by conducting a self-assessment and know what they offer to their mentees and what is expected of them.

Types of Mentors.
1: The master of craft.
2. The champion of your cause.
3: The copilot.
4: The anchor.
5: The reverse mentor.

Types Of Mentoring.
1. Traditional One-on-one Mentoring. A mentee and mentor are matched, either through a program or on their own.
2. Distance Mentoring.
A mentoring relationship in which the two parties are in different locations.
3. Group Mentoring.
A single mentor is matched with a cohort of mentees.
