They hold tight to their ancestral root while embracing the modern world. But when you travel across the globe and meet an Igbo person, a deep sigh escapes the heart. We see brilliant minds caught in a web of foreign dogmas, loudly defending beliefs handed to them by outsiders while dismissing the very foundation of their own identity as evil.
Let me tell you a simple truth, the very people who brought you this foreign religion are secretly studying your ancient heritage, your Odinani and your science of being. They know the depth of our indigenous wisdom, yet here we are, trapped in poverty, mental confusion and spiritual stagnation, waiting for a miracle worker to drop manna from heaven. We have abandoned the communal strength of Igwebuike and the moral compass of our ancestors, choosing instead to tear down our own identity while expecting progress to locate us in our state of amnesia.
My people, awaken before it is too late! A tree with roots cut off cannot stand tall against the wind. It is time to return to the sanity of our roots, to embrace Odinani Igbo not with shame, but with the pride of a people who once commanded respect through integrity, industry and self-reliance.
No foreign savior is coming to rewrite our history or fix our land. The power to redeem our heritage and reclaim our destiny lies right within us.
